Received: 5 August 2009 Subject : A day at Portland Fishing Lakes

May l extend a big thank you to you all at Portland Fishing Lakes and especially Toby. After a 10 year lay off from angling and 20 years off the match scene l couldn't have picked a better venue to recommence my life long passion. Within minutes of arriving l met Toby, he put me on the right peg to start catching straight away and gave me endless tips on how to keep them coming as he put himself out on his busy work day to ensure l was OK. My day finished brilliantly with a good haul of quality Carp, Barbel, Orfe, Chub and a Tench. My planned leaving time of 5pm paled, as the fish kept coming right up until 7pm when l just had to leave. Sincere regards John McKenzie-Smith

This was my 1st time at Portland and I fished the 4 Island lake, peg 13. I caught over 50 fish of various sizes and missed plenty too. Had a great day and will be back soon.

I'm not really into fishing but last week I had a go and really enjoyed myself, and am planning on popping down to you at least once a month. I caught 33 fish in total my biggest being 3-4 lb mirror carp which was brill, and a 18 inch long eel which made me jump out of my skin. Thankyou for a really great experience.

Message: I always enjoy fishing at the Old Wood Lake over the years I have been coming. However, on this occasion I feel I need to express my views on your new clubhouse. The breakfast and food are absolutely brilliant and I no longer 'pack' myself up.....
